About this Personal Data Protection Policy

  1. This is the Personal Data Protection Policy (“PDP Policy”) of Love For a Dollar (“LoveFAD”).

  1. In this PDP Policy, “we”, “us” or “our” refers to LoveFAD.

  1. We will only use your personal data where you have given us your consent, unless an exemption under applicable law applies.

  1. This PDP Policy describes how we may collect, use, disclose and process your personal data when you:

    1. provide us with your personal data, regardless of the medium through which such personal data is provided; and/or

    1. access or use our website and related applications (“Applications”) and services.

  1. By providing us with personal data, you agree to the terms of this PDP Policy and you consent to our collection, use, disclosure and processing of personal data on these terms. DO NOT provide any personal data to us if you do not accept this PDP Policy.

  1. Our Applications may contain links to other websites that are not owned or maintained by us. These links are provided only for your convenience and information. This PDP Policy only applies to our Applications. When visiting these third party websites, you should read their privacy policies.

Amendments to this PDP Policy

  1. We reserve the right to modify or change this PDP Policy from time to time without notice to you, in compliance with applicable laws or as we update our data usage and handling processes. The current version is available at [http://www.lovefad.org/pdpp.html]. The updated PDP Policy will supersede earlier versions and will apply to all personal data provided to us previously. This PDP Policy also supplements any other agreements you may have with us.

What personal data we collect

  1. What is personal data. “Personal data” is data that can be used to identify a natural person. Examples of personal data include name, address, contact details, identification numbers, financial information, IP address, educational history, telephone numbers, email address, images, and any other information of a personal nature.

  1. Voluntary provision of personal data. We collect personal data that you voluntarily provide to us. What personal data we collect depends on the purposes for which the personal data is collected and what you have chosen to provide.

    You can choose not to provide us with personal data. You also have the right to withdraw your consent for us to continue collecting, using, disclosing and processing your personal data, by contacting us in accordance with paragraph 22. However, if you do so, it may not be possible for us to fulfil the purposes for which we require the personal data, including processing your registration or providing you with the services that you require.

  1. Providing personal data belonging to others. In certain circumstances, you may also provide us with personal data of another person. If you do so, you must inform him/her of the purposes for which we are collecting his/her personal data and ensure that he/she has consented to your disclosure of his/her personal data to us for those purposes. You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from and against any and all claims by such individuals relating to our collection, use and disclosure of such personal data in accordance with the terms of this PDP Policy.

  1. Accuracy and completeness of personal data. You are responsible for ensuring that all personal data that you provide to us is true, accurate and complete. You are responsible for informing us of any changes to your personal data.

How we collect personal data

  1. Personal data you provide. We collect personal data that is relevant to our relationship with you. The additional personal data that is collected depends on the nature of the activity. We may collect your personal data directly or indirectly through various channels, such as when you register to be a donor/supporter/volunteer/event participant/beneficiary of LoveFAD; you register your interest with us and agree to be included in our mailing list; you use our Applications; you authorise us to obtain your personal data from a third party; you contact us or request that we contact you through various communication channels; you participate in training sessions or volunteering events organised by us; and/or you provide us with your personal data for whatever reasons.

Purposes for collection, use or disclosure of your personal data

  1. General purposes. Generally, we collect, use, disclose and process your personal data for purposes connected or relevant to our organisation, to manage your relationship with us. Such purposes would include but is not limited to: verifying your identity; sending you LoveFAD materials such as LoveFAD announcements, LoveFAD newsletters and materials in relation to LoveFAD fundraising events; facilitating your use of our Applications and operating, managing, maintaining and improving our Applications; providing services to our beneficiaries; processing and responding to inquiries, complaints, requests and/or feedback; liaising with the relevant vendors, suppliers and third party organisations; for service improvement; complying with a court order or other legal process or other statutory and/or regulatory requirements of any governmental and/or regulatory authorities; and any other purposes related to the aforesaid and/or permitted by the applicable laws of Singapore.

  1. Marketing purposes. If you have provided us with your consent, we may use your personal data for the purposes of marketing our organisation and the services we offer.

  1. Use permitted under applicable laws. We may also collect, use, disclose and process your personal data for other purposes, without your knowledge or consent, where this is required or permitted by law.

  1. Contacting you. When we contact or send you information, we may do so by post, e-mail, SMS, telephone or such other means provided by you. If you do not wish to receive any communication or information from us, or wish to restrict the manner by which we may contact or send you information, you may contact us in accordance with paragraph 22.

Disclosure of personal data

  1. Sharing of Information. LoveFAD will not sell or rent your personal data to any third parties. LoveFAD will not disclose your personal data to third parties, except if required by law or a court order to do so, or if one of the exceptions in the PDPA apply. Insofar as disclosure is necessary to any service, system providers and/or data processors working on our behalf, you consent to the disclosure of your personal data.

Security and Retention of personal data

  1. Vulnerabilities. While there is no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage that is 100% secure, we strive to protect and ensure the security of your personal data from unauthorised access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal or other similar risks.

  1. Period of retention. We will cease to retain your personal data or remove the means by which the personal data may be associate with particular individuals as soon as it is reasonable to assume that the purpose for which the personal data was collected is no longer being serviced by retention of the personal data, and retention is no longer necessary for legal business purposes.

Your Rights

  1. You enjoy certain rights at law in relation to our collection, use, disclosure and processing of your personal data. Such rights include:

    1. Access: you may ask us if we hold your personal data and, if we are, you can request access to your personal data. This enables you to receive a copy of and information on the personal data we hold about you.

    1. Correction: you may request that any incomplete or inaccurate personal data we hold about you is corrected.

    1. Withdrawal of consent: you may withdraw consent for our use of your personal data.

  1. Exercising your rights. If you wish to exercise your rights, you may contact us in accordance with paragraph 22. We may require that you submit certain forms or provide certain information to process your request.
